Meeting strangers who quickly become like long lost friends isn't something that happens every day. This was my experience with Leigha and Wes for their Pacific City elopement. As soon as I arrived at their suite at Headlands Coastal Lodge, they welcomed me like a friend, offered me a drink and food, and expressed their excitment for the day. We all walked out on the balcony to watch families, friends, and all the dogs enjoying a beautiful Summer afternoon. They pointed out a few spots they liked for the ceremony and first look but left it up to me in what I thought was best. I was blown away by the amount of trust they put in me and felt so honored to be a part of their day.
There's something extra special when photographing elopements - it's a wild and special experience to enter into the lives of two lovers for the day. I've played no significant role their lives (or any role for that matter!) yet here I am not only documenting their love for one another but witnessing that commitment with only two other people (Wes' mom, Blair and her partner, Mike). Leigha and Wes are such sweet and gentle people, full of goofiness (is that a word), and completely in love with each other. Congratulations ya lovebirds!
